Biography

Mohammed is a PhD candidate, who joined KAUST to study the dynamic population of Klebsiella pneumoniae, and other ESKAPE pathogens by using genomic data analysis and bioinformatic tools to understand the epidemiology and determinants of antimicrobial resistance in a tertiary hospital in the Western region of Saudi Arabia. Mohammed is a research scientist at the Saudi Public Health Authority since 2018 and he is awarded a scholarship to pursue his PhD here at KAUST. In his Master’s thesis, he utilized a cell-based assay to search for chemical compounds to inhibit the proteolytic activity of West Nile Virus using high-throughput screening.
