Raneem is a licensed Biomedical Technology Specialist. She completed her MSc in Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), joining the Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Laboratory in 2023 as a graduate student.
During her MSc, her research focused on utilizing high-throughput automation platforms to investigate bacterial evolution and adaptation under antimicrobial pressure and physical stress conditions. Alongside her research, she worked as a lab technician, supporting MSc and PhD students in experimental workflows, robotics, and everyday lab work.
Following the completion of her degree, Raneem rejoined the IDE lab as a visiting researcher and consultant. Her current work aims to apply her expertise in high-throughput automation, omics, and antimicrobial resistance to design experiments and research projects in functional genomics and infectious diseases epidemiology.
Before joining KAUST, Raneem spent two years as a research lab assistant volunteer at the King Fahd Medical Research Centre, working at the Center of Excellence in Genomics Diagnostic and Research Laboratory, where she received training in molecular techniques, genomics workflows, and diagnostic assays.
